Secondary Containment Systems
POLY
CURB™
POLY CURB is a low wall dike system used to contain or control spilled liquid. Polystar’s curb style spill containment is available in both BOX and STEALTH models. The POLY CURB has many uses. Several examples are containing spills from process equipment, drums or small tanks; interior perimeter containment for buildings; and work area segregation.
POLY CURB, designed to control incidental spills, splashes and leaks from a number of potential sources, is another Polystar innovation that is destined to become an industry standard.

Box Curb System
Based on wall height, our curb style spill containment system is manufactured from various thicknesses of fiberglass with base width varying from approximately 9" to 12". POLY CURB sections come with drop-over joiners for easy, yet positive jointure. Further, modular corners, wall adapters and other accessories are available to completely construct one of our spill containment systems. .
BOX POLY CURB looks similar to traditional concrete curb, but installs faster and is corrosion and crack resistant. BOX curb is available in a 6" height and 71" length.
STEALTH POLY CURB has unique 45° angled side walls that reduce tripping potential, a safety feature that is especially valuable in areas of heavy pedestrian traffic. STEALTH POLY CURB is available in a 3" height and 71" length.
POLY CURB is easily installed, yet portable as systems are typically sealed to a concrete floor with either gasket or caulk sealant and securely fastened in place with concrete fasteners.
POLY CURB may be ordered either as a complete custom manufactured system for a particular application or for stock so that a spill containment system may be installed as the need arises.

SUMMARY: A non-porous, modular, fiberglass curb system that, using state-of-the-art fiberglass materials, maximizes corrosion protection and strength, while maintaining light weight and ease of installation.
Poly Curb is designed to control incidental spills, splashes and leaks from a number of potential sources. It is available in two unique designs.
BOX Poly Curb is 6” (15.2cm) high. Box Poly Curb looks similar to traditional concrete curb, but installs faster, is surface mounted, non-porous and corrosion resistant.
STEALTH Poly Curb is 3” (7.6cm) high. It has unique 45° angled side walls that reduce the chance of tripping. This feature is especially valuable in areas of high pedestrian traffic.
Poly Curb is manufactured from nominal 3/16” (4.76mm) thick fiberglass with a base width of either 11.5” (29.2cm) (Box Poly Curb) or 10.75” (27.3cm) (Stealth Poly Curb) including the mounting flanges. Poly Curb is manufactured in nominal 71” (1.80m) long sections. Sections are butted end-to-end and a drop over sleeve joins the sections together for an easy, yet positive sectional jointure. Corner modules and wall butt plates are sold separately to allow construction of a complete system. Poly Curb is easily installed and re-locatable, as systems are typically sealed with caulk sealant and secured with reversible concrete fasteners.
Poly Curb is ordered by the box, with 10 sections in a box for Box Poly Curb and 15 sections in a box for Stealth Poly Curb. Poly Curb may be purchased for immediate installation by the customer or his/her selected contractor, or stocked for use as the need arises.
KEY POLY CURB BENEFITS VERSUS ALTERNATIVES:
• NO EXCAVATION OR CURING TIME REQUIRED
• FAST, CLEAN INSTALLATION
• SUPERIOR CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
• MAY BE RE-LOCATED AS THE NEED CHANGES
• MAY BE STOCKED FOR IMMEDIATE USE AS NEEDED
• AVAILBLE IN 6” OR 3” HEIGHTS
PURPOSE: POLY CURB is designed to be used as secondary containment for liquid and solid products considered to be harmful to the environment if leaked from their primary containment device. Applications include chemical storage tanks, product storage tanks, drums, pails, pump basins, hazardous material work areas, process waste treatment sites, rainwater runoff diking, secondary containment for tools or other small objects or similar applications. For proper use, POLY CURB must be secured to clean, level concrete substrate and sealed with an appropriate sealant. For other substrates, the POLY CURB must be used in conjunction with an appropriate non-porous, fabric liner. POLY CURB is manufactured in a 3” high Stealth profile and a 6” high Box profile. Nominal footprint is 10 ¾” for the 3” high Stealth POLY CURB and 11½” for the 6” high Box POLY CURB including the mounting flanges.
SCOPE: This product specification covers materials, construction and workmanship, physical properties, chemical resistance and methods of testing.
MATERIAL: Premium fiberglass material, woven roving and industrial grade isophthalic or vinyl ester resin as manufactured by Ashland Chemical or equivalent are used in construction. A gelcoat surface resin of equal chemical resistance, with the additive antimony trioxide for flame retardance and U.V. protection is included. The flame spread rating is Class II. Tested by ASTM E-84.
STRUCTURE: Fiberglass reinforced construction is formed by combining resin with controlled amounts of fiberglass cloth, mat, chop and woven roving. A corrosion barrier of not less than 30 mils meets standards PS 15-69 to ensure product consistent quality.
